The best part was experiencing my kids watching the Olympics. They were both so into the diving and gymnastics. My older son wanted to cheer for people from other countries but at first felt like he shouldn't. We need to cheer team USA. But I told him, they all have their stories. They all worked just as hard and if you freak out when a guy from the UK wins the 10,000 Meter for the first time in history that is awesome. We're celebrating people and their triumphs.
So, this really has nothing to do with writing. But it does have to do with putting in the effort. Not one of those gold medalists got there without disciplin and time. So here's to putting even half the effort an Olympic gold medalist puts into getting there into my writing. And for your enjoyment a picture I took this weekend.
What's your favorite part of the Olympics?
Nice photo LOL! :D
ReplyDeleteThe Olympics has been amazing, I have enjoyed it so much this year! Of course, it helps that it's being held in my home country! :D
I haven't watched a lot of the events, but what I have have been amazing.
ReplyDeleteI have a MSc in exercise physiology and have tested elite athletes. It's amazing the will they have to succeed. At least those striving for the Olympics. Some of the NHL players are whimps. lol
One of the things I like about the Olympics is the way it really feels okay to cheer for anybody.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd you found an awesome topic to write about! It's so true. The stories are some of the best parts.
best picture EVER! <3
ReplyDeleteLove everything about the Olympics. Even the sports I'm usually not as big a fan of are more exciting when it's for an Olympic gold.
ReplyDeleteVery cute picture! And you're right it takes hard work to make dreams come true!
ReplyDeleteYour picture earns a perfect 10!
ReplyDeleteThat picture is pure gold! And just think, you've been training for that picture since you were in grammar school learning how to do funny faces...That's dedication.
ReplyDeleteThose athletes are so amazing. I sit down for ten minutes and an hour passes watching them.
ReplyDeleteHaven't had a chance to watch a whole lot, but we did catch a water polo game. I used to play it. Don't judge. :)
ReplyDeleteYour picture cracks me up. I love the message you gave your kids about celebrating people. ;) That's my favorite part of the Olympics too.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the Olympics and it is incredibly inspiring. Love your picture :)
ReplyDeleteLOL. You're awesome!!! I wish I've had time to watch more of the Olympics. Hasn't worked out, but I've got a lot of it on DVR! I'll just watch it late!
ReplyDeleteI've SO been comparing my writing journey to the Olympics! And it's inspiring, because you see these people who have sweat, and cried, and WORKED their butts off to be where they're at... and the truth is we really can be there too... it all comes down to being consistent and putting in the work ;)
ReplyDeleteI haven't really been watching. But we did catch a bit of the women's weight lifting competition one night. It reminds me of how big a wimp I am, because man, those ladies are strong. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the photo! :)
ReplyDeleteWe've been watching the Olympics, too. My sons are totally into them. The fencing last week was amazing!
Fun pic! I like watching both my own country and others succeed. I have to say seeing Usain and Yohan take gold and silver in track was awesome. Go Olympics! Go team Jamaica! Best of luck to all.
